Detroit Casinos Will Reopen Without Poker

When Michigan’s three commercial casinos reopen, poker will not be an option for gamblers after state regulators reopen casinos Monday.

The report from the Detroit Free Press, which can operate at 15 percent of its total capacity, according to temperature checks at the entrance, enters guests to place masks, ensures six feet of social distancing between gamblers, and keeps the poker room closed. Casinos will also temporarily eliminate smoking on gambling floors, self-wilt buffets, valets and suits.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer implemented several strict lockdown orders from any state within the COVID -19 pandemic criteria. He pointed to an executive order in mid-March that reports to be closed and has not given a date the casino will be open for business again visiting lapak303.

Michigan Gaming Board Executive Director Richard Kalm said the new was created from other major regulatory bodies across the state.

“In compiling this new minimum, we took into account the recommendations of the CDC, the new Nevada Gaming Board and information from the National Indian Gaming Commission,” Kalm told Free Press. “We asked permission to read the original plan again, and we asked for a new name about a new one.”

The largest city in this part of the state is home to MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Greektown Casino. The rest of the state entities are tribal entities and are not subject to state regulations. Some have reopened.

Across the country, the gambling market has started betting again, with many Las Vegas casinos opening last Thursday. Poker room policies, change, vary from country to country and even casinos.

In Florida, many poker rooms opened in late May with short-hand games, but some rooms have already shifted to nine-hand games.

Las Vegas poker rooms were originally supposed to run four-handed games at the start of the re-opening, but the five-handed game regulators were run just a day after opening. The poker room at The Venetian is the only room on the Las Vegas Strip that is currently operating. Orleans, South Point and the Golden Nugget have also reopened, while larger rooms await six-handed play before play.
