Poker players convert $ 5 bets to $ 1 million at the casino

A man playing poker at an Atlantic City casino has won $ 1 million on a $ 5 bet. The man, identified only as a resident of Lakewood, made a three card “6 Bonus Card” bet Saturday afternoon at the Borgata Hotel Casino. He then hit a royal diamond, a hand that overcame a 1 to 20 million chance.

The man is awarded 10, the queen and the diamond ace. The dealer’s hand is nine, the jack and the diamond king. Casino officials say this is the first time this bet has been made in Borgata. The World Series of Poker celebrates its golden anniversary when this year’s event kicks off May 28 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino’s Convention Center visit poker88.

Last year’s event had a record 123,865 entries generating a record $ 266,889,193 in prize money. The gold bracelet event averages a prize pool of $ 3,421,656 with winners receiving an average of $ 655,337. Many WSOP signature events will be held in 2019, including the Main Event, Big 50, Colossus, Millionaire Maker, Crazy Eights, Monster Stack, and Championshiporsors Championship.

Buy-ins start at $ 70. Nearly 500 tables will be set up to use over 100,000 square feet of ballroom space for the event, which peaks on July 16.
